Shooting Disciplines

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All shooting is at approved paper targets and the following disciplines are provided for:

  • .177 Air rifle and pistol shooting at 10m
  • .22 Rim fire rifle shooting at 25yds
  • .177 Air pistol and .22 rim fire “Long-arm” pistol at 20yds
  • .177 Air, .22 air and .22 rim fire “lightweight sporting rifle” at 20yds
  • 10m Air Rifle and Pistol
    This is performed in the standing position using single shot recoilless weapons, either spring powered or, more often, powered by compressed air, and open sights (as opposed to telescopic).

    25yd .22 Rim Fire (Small-bore) Rifle
    This is performed in the prone position using single shot weapons and open sights. Targets have ten aiming marks and a single shot is made at each one.

    20yd .177 Air Pistol and .22 Rim Fire “Long-arm” Pistol
    This is performed in the standing position using single shot weapons and open sights. Targets have a single aiming mark and ten shots are fired.

    Please note that the club cannot hold any .22 Rim Fire “Long-arm” Pistol’s, though members holding their own Fire Arm Certificates (FAC) are able to bring their own weapons.

    20yd 177 Air, .22 Air And .22 Rim Fire “Lightweight Sporting Rifle”
    This is performed in the standing position and telescopic sights are permitted. Targets have a single aiming mark and either five or ten shots are fired depending upon the competition rules.
